In the Sullivan and Partners in Learning programs (Sullivan I & II), the certified early childhood (CEC) teacher prepares weekly lesson plans for the classroom, which is in session Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon. At weekly staff meetings, these lesson plans are shared with the family educators, who assist in the classroom and who deliver components during home visits. The CEC teacher is available to work individually with the family educators to tailor the material to the students' needs. A reading specialist is also employed as a consultant teacher to work with family educators in developing individualized lesson plans for both children and adults. Both the CEC teacher and the reading specialist provide staff development.
